This book is absolutely blowing my kind right now. I picked it up because of the title on the stark black and white cover.
Any Colts fan could tell you the difference between a fair weather fan and a true follower of the team. Fair weather fans didn’t attend any games this season, watch them on tv even after Peyton was injured, or wear their blue and white on game days when had yet to win a game halfway through the season.
Can you imagine the difference between being a fan and a true follower of Jesus? Being His Follower is not measured by how often you go to church, the number of Bible verses you post on FB, or wearing a cross around your neck.
“Fans are happy to follow Jesus as long as it doesn’t require any significant changes or have negative implications. ”
“Following Jesus is a pursuit that requires EVERYTHING we have.” ~ Kyle Idleman
A true follower is defined as an enthusiastic admirer. Is this something that I could say about myself?
Am I giving everything, or just what is leftover at the end of my day?
And this was just the beginning….
Like I said, this book was blowing my mind. I love something that challenges me to live each and every moment like God is sitting next to me. This book does that and more.
And I’m only on chapter 10.
To be continued…
PS: Read with caution if you are happy being a fair weather fan. You never know when the weather will change.
I dont generally reblog. No particular reason. However, I love this photo. The post is is great. But I love the worn Bible. It is just how I like it, loved upon, highlighted, and written in. Can’t beat that.
